Discover our Story
The first time I arrived in Mexico, I flew in on the redeye flight from Los Angeles, it was five in the morning and Mexico City was still blanketed by the dark. I arrived at my hotel without a word of Spanish, bleary eyed and disorientated. As the sun rose that day back in 2012, so too did my curiosity about this country.
12 years later, I am still discovering new beautiful curiosities about Magico México, a place that has welcomed me so warmly.
Hailing from Australia it’s difficult to explain just how one finds themself on the other side of the world for such a long time. But if you’ve ever visited Puerto Escondido or the Oaxaca Coast, you might have an inkling as to what is so captivating and keeps myself here, and my clients returning year after year.
I have traveled all over the world from Thailand to France, from Indonesia to Italy, from Turkey to Vietnam and the United States and Canada. Throughout my journeys I have stayed in small cabins on the beach with one light bulb, fancy 5 star resorts, hip reimagined motels and a tent in a campground roadtripping - so I know the importance and treasure that a host, a point of contact, a concierge can be. To be welcomed by someone who is passionate for their place, their city, their country, is what has always made my travels feel like home, when you’re so far from home.
Hibiscus in Puerto Property Management is a result of my travels, but also my professional experience in a variety of industries. Series television, corporate property management administration and more than 15 years in the hospitality industry, I honed my skills and senses for providing a personal and reliable service to guests and clients alike.
My team and I are dedicated to making guest vacations effortless and enjoyable and client rentals seamless and profitable.
After 6 years in Puerto and 3 in this industry, I know the challenges faced in maintaining a property here and with Hibiscus Property Management, you can trust that your vacation home will be cared for with dedication and attention to detail.​

Sarah is the founder and heart behind Hibiscus in Puerto, a company rooted in care, connection, and professionalism. She’s the go-to person for homeowners, guests, and the on-the-ground team—keeping everything running smoothly, from housekeeping to maintenance to finances. With a hands-on approach and an eye for detail, Sarah ensures each property is well looked after and every guest feels truly welcomed.
Cristian Soto - Maintenance and Construction Manager
With a knack for fixing just about anything, Cristian keeps every property in top shape. For the rare tasks he can’t tackle himself, he draws on a trusted network of skilled tradespeople. From routine maintenance to full-scale construction—and everything in between—he manages each project with care, precision, and a practical eye.
Esmeralda - Housekeeping Manager
Esmeralda is the Housekeeping Manager at Hibiscus in Puerto and the reason our properties shine—literally and figuratively. She coordinates the housekeeping team with care and consistency, making sure each home is spotless, well-stocked, and ready to welcome guests.
